Junk Store Tested - September 29, 2025
This week’s testing highlights: 15 games across Epic, GOG, Amazon, itch.io storefronts — including standout finds like Darkwood running flawlessly and Eastern Exorcist running flawlessly. 15 games work perfectly out of the box!
Kia ora Everyone!
Finally feels like summer is on its way down under! Just had daylight savings, so losing that hour threw us off a bit, but at least it’s lighter later in the evening now. Looking forward to summer and getting back on track with some long-neglected boat jobs!
Some great games in this week’s batch too — Jorel’s Brother and The Most Important Game of the Galaxy looks like it could be a bit of fun, and Forma.8 from itch.io looks promising as well! Let’s dive into this week’s testing results.

Next week’s Epic giveaways look exciting! Nightingale is a first-person, PVE, open-world survival crafting game that can be played solo or cooperatively with friends. Build, craft, fight and explore as you venture through mystical portals into amazing and fantastical realms. This one looks really interesting — like something the two of us could get completely lost in. Really looking forward to testing that one!
The other Epic game is Firestone: Online Idle RPG, which we previously tested back in April and works perfectly out of the box on both versions of Junk Store, so that’ll be a nice easy addition to next week’s batch.
Wonder what we’ll be getting from Amazon Prime Gaming next week — fingers crossed for some goodies!
